As students, how can you maximize YOUR learning in an OBE environment?

As students, how can you maximize YOUR learning in an OBE environment?

To acquire all the HSUHK desirable graduate attributes, YOU should adopt a very proactive attitude in aiming at full understanding of:

  • The action described in all ILO statements as expressed by the ‘action verbs’.
For example: the world ‘describe’ is very different from the word ‘discuss’. Seek advice from your mentor or teachers to ensure you know the difference.

  • The activities designed to develop the learning outcomes related to programme / module / extra- or co-curricular events

For example: discover for yourself the details of the activity (refer to the example of TLA given above) so that you would not miss any information parts that are related to the development of the specific ILOs. Take courage to try tasks that you have never attempted before. Give yourself an opportunity to develop the specific ILOs with determination.

  • The assessment rubrics designed as a guide to help achieving the ILOs at different levels of performance

For example: study carefully the assessment rubric (refer to the example of assessment rubric given above) distributed by the staff responsible for the assessment task for the particular ILO. Strive to aim at the top level of performance, taking each task one to fulfil the requirement for the highest performance level. Do not hold back to ask for support.
