The Teaching and Learning Enhancement Section of the Centre for Teaching and Learning (CTL) successfully organised the first teaching-enhancement seminar entitled ‘Voice Care Workshop’ in the new academic year of 2022/23. TEDxHSUHK 2022: Our Times

“It was the best of times, it was the worst of times”.

Charles Dickens, in A Tale of Two Cities, could not have penned an even more fitting saying to describe the whole world’s times, since the global pandemic starting in late 2019. However, nothing could have deterred TEDxHSUHK from spreading worthwhile ideas to both the HSUHK and the whole community. In fact, it was exactly against such a challenging backdrop was our 2022 theme nurtured: Our Times.

CTL successfully organised the HSUHK Innovation Project Competition 2022!

The HSUHK Innovation Project Competition 2022 (“the Competition”) reached a new height, with its Pitching Competition and Awards Presentation Ceremony successfully organised on 3 March. Marching into its 7th year, the Competition is aimed at stimulating our students’ innovativeness through their original proposals.

HSUHK Innovation Project Competition 2022 – Talk Series

Part of the HSUHK Innovation Project Competition 2022, the Centre for Teaching and Learning (CTL) successfully organised three theme-based talks on three consecutive Thursdays in November 2021, enlightening over 150 students so that they could see the application of innovation to social issues around us in a whole new light.

HSUHK Teaching and Learning Forum 2021

The Centre for Teaching and Learning (CTL) successfully organised the HSUHK Teaching and Learning Forum 2021, themed “Let’s Create a BRAINstorm in a Teacup: Dialogues with Different Educators”, on 25 May 2021. The Forum served as a cross-institutional platform for educators to share the best practices and the most updated experience of teaching and learning for the promotion of teaching excellence. Following the first Forum in 2019, the number of speakers tripled to 18 at the second Forum, featuring the 10 recipients of the HSUHK Teaching Excellence Awards of 2018/19 and 2019/20 and 8 distinguished scholars from a wide range of local tertiary institutions. In the new normal of online teaching, it was CTL’s first-time endeavour to host the HSUHK Teaching and Learning Forum in the mixed mode.

HSUHK Teaching Excellence Awards Sharing Seminar III (2020/21)

The Centre for Teaching and Learning (CTL) wrapped the HSUHK Teaching Excellence Awards Sharing Seminar Series (2020/21) up on 8 April 2021 (Thursday), 2:00 to 3:00 p.m., at D603.

The Sharing Seminar III, titled “Service-Learning for Individuals, Society and Translation”, focused on the pedagogy of Service-Learning, an initiative at the University in early 2019. Ms Maggie Wong, the recipient of the HSUHK Teaching Excellence Awards 2019/20, partnered with Dr Siu Sai-cheong, our invited guest speaker, for an illustration of their valuable experience in teaching with Service-Learning.
